For the second time, Akademie für Tonkunst invited the whole school to a joint New Year's event. After a festive reception last year, this time the programme included a hike through the forests of Darmstadt to the Fischerhütte restaurant. After snow and ice had made life quite difficult over the last few days, the weather couldn't have been better for our planning: And so 20 teachers*, administrative staff and heads of department equipped with hiking boots trudged through crunching snow to the fish ponds on the Darmbach stream. After a good hour, we relaxed over ice cream, mulled wine, schnitzel and apple strudel before making our way back to the still busy academy in the dark - illuminated only by sparklers, twinkling lights and the reflections of the moon.
