Claudia Nicolai graduated with majors in piano and choral conducting from the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts.
She has been teaching piano at the Lampertheim Music School since 2001 and has been directing children's choirs, youth choirs and the adult choir of the music school department at Akademie für Tonkunst since 2002. She offers lessons in choral voice training for children and young people.
Claudia Nicolai writes her own children's songs, and in 2013 she produced the CD "Die Trottellumme... und andere schräge Vögel" ("The Trottellumme... and Other Weird Birds") for the Helbling publishing house together with her colleague Gernot Kögel, based on poems by the Austrian State Prize winner for children's poetry Gerald Jatzek. In children's concerts she appears on stage together with the Trottellumme and a five-piece band.
