On the evening of 6 December, our entire building presented itself from its best side for St Nicholas' Day: young and old, music pupils and students, administrative staff and teaching staff brought the Wilhelm Petersen Hall and the foyer to life with wintery, Christmassy melodies. From wind orchestra and choir to recorder and string ensemble to ocarina and tuba orchestra, all facets and potentials of the academy could be experienced by the numerous guests. After the traditional St Nicholas concert, we rounded off the evening with festive drinks and Christmas biscuits. For the first time, members of the administration provided the musical backdrop, performing "wild Christmas carols" in bands and ensembles - rehearsed by lecturers and students of the Academy - on the foyer stage.
