Matthias Lang studied percussion at the HfMDK in Frankfurt am Main. There he received lessons from Prof. Rainer Römer, Jürgen Friedel, Ulrich Weber and Claus Hessler, among others. His studies included training as an orchestral musician as well as an instrumental teacher.
Various engagements have taken him to the Frankfurt Opera, the Hessian State Theatre in Wiesbaden and the Trier Theatre, among others. In the field of popular music, too, he moves in many styles, from rock to pop, jazz, salsa or even klezmer.
In addition to his musical training, he studied computer science at the TU Darmstadt and conducts research in the field of AI and music, among other things. He has worked as a radio play author for WDR, RBB and Deutschlandfunk, for example.
